Events
Our events were a fantastic way to learn how to crochet basic coral patterns. Materials were provided and no crochet experience was necessary. At our first two events we taught one coral pattern with enough time and materials to crochet one coral. We taught both patterns at our third event and provided enough yarn to crochet as many critters people could make!! Our fourth event was for Wesleyan faculty and staff only and we taught both patterns.

Grab Bags
Grab bags contained a crochet hook and enough yarn to make the crochet brain coral pattern in the attached zine. They were left in the Joe Webb Peoples museum, the science library and Olin. We encouraged students to pick one up and join the crochet effort! Once they finished their coral they could bring it to one of our drop off locations for it to be included in the final reef.
Locations: Scili, Olin, Joe Webb Peoples Museum (4th floor of exley), Theater Department, Usdan

Drop off Locations
Drop off bins placed around campus gave anyone the opportunity to contribute to the ecosystem display. Drop off bins are labeled “Craft Sea Critters Drop Off.” At the bin there were tags attached to safety pins. Before dropping your creation in the bin, we asked students to write their name on the front of the tag, email on the back, and attach the safety pin. Each person who labeled their contribution has been acknowledged for their work and received a limited edition sticker.
